15 Dec-29 Dec: Firsts and lasts (#27)
Happy end of year, APP community!
This is the last newsletter issue of 2025, as we’ll be taking a break and skipping our 29 Dec issue. I hope y’all have a lovely end of year and new year. We’ll be back in mid Jan 💌
But with lasts come firsts… and today marks our first Expert Spotlight! This was a series some time in the making. APP comes into contact with a lot of amazing parents who became postpartum professionals (for our Fourth Trimester Program and beyond), and we’ve been exploring a way to highlight their expertise while also celebrating their journey as parents, too.

Krishna of Krish Yoga
🌟 Expert Spotlight: Krishna Hassomal
Krishna is a hypnobirthing teacher and yoga instructor supporting moms from pregnancy through to parenthood. Her background is scientific — she has a PhD in theoretical chemistry and previously worked in decomissioning and nuclear waste 🤯. She now works on her practice, Krish Yoga, full-time alongside everything that comes with being a mom to 4 children (including twins!).
Krishna and I met while wrangling our puddle-loving toddlers in Rembrandtpark. We started talking about all things parenthood, which led us to discover we both serve the postpartum community here in Amsterdam. (Then in true village fashion, I later met her husband with the kids at the new play area at Taal Coffee in Oud West 😂)
Through my work and my personal experience, I've seen the importance of learning how to ask for help (it's a skill!), communicating and reaching out to others, and to slow down and rest more often — which often seems impossible when you have a baby to care for.
Read more about her journey — both personal and professional — at the link below, including her “One Ask” for how APP parents can support her. You can also follow her on Instagram at @krish_yoga.

Live music at the Funky Xmas Market — my toddler loves fanfare 😄
