27 Jan-10 Feb: Free physical therapy for babies – Here’s what you need to know (#6)

Hi, APP Community! ❤️ I’m still feeling warm and fuzzy from Burnout Brunch this past weekend; thank you to everyone who showed up to learn and heal together. I’m so grateful we can come together as a community for moments like this 🫶🏻

Now for something completely different. This week’s Dear Dr. Mom is dedicated to something equally near and dear to my heart as a parent: FREE STUFF 💸

I’ve heard parents talk about all the ways physical therapy has helped their baby, resolving everything from motor development to sleep issues. So when someone in the community asked, “What is a kinderfysio, anyway?” I knew that it’d be good to highlight this free resource for parents. We all love a confident baby learning to explore the world — with a confident parent behind them.

👩‍⚕️ Dear Dr. Mom: What is a kinderfysio and how could my baby benefit?

Pediatric physical therapist Maggie Onofri from Kinderfysiotherapie in Amsterdam explains when and why you may want to take advantage of free physical therapy for your baby, and what to expect at a session. Spoiler: Physical therapy is not just for when you think your baby’s behind on motor skills!

Physical therapy for children goes far beyond just improving gross motor skills. It also plays a crucial role in their emotional, mental, and social development, creating a strong foundation for overall well-being.
